Création et adaptation: Intégration dans le développement vocationnel de l'adulte

RésuméAprès avoir identifié deux fonctions centrales à la vie occupationnelle de 1'adulte, soit les "créatives" et les "adaptatives", le présent article pose, en première partie, les questions suivantes. Est-ce que les formulations de certaines théories de la psychologic et de l'éducation des adultes privilégient l'une ou l'autre de ces deux fonctions à titre de conditions basales au développement? Si oui, l'aspiration à se développer sur un plan vocationnel est-elle accessible à toutes les classes de travailleurs? Suite à ces interrogations, le présent article propose, en seconde partie, certains éléments d'une conception intégratrice du développement vocationnel de 1'adulte; ces derniers visent à accorder une importance sensiblement égale à ces deux fonctions créatives et adaptatives. Enfin, certaines applications pratiques sont suggérées.
After having identified two functions, creative and adaptative, that are central to adult work life, this article asks, in first part, the following questions. Do formulations of certain theories of psychology and adult education favour one or another of these two functions by virtue of basal conditions of development? If yes, is the aspiration of vocational development accessible to all social classes of workers? As a follow up to this questioning, this article proposes, in the second part, certain elements of an integrated conception of adult vocational development; the latter aim to accord an essentially equal importance to these two creative and adaptative functions. Finally, certain practical applications are suggested.
